With all due respect to astrophysicist Professor Jayant Narlikar, @shekargupta, @ndtv Our belief system, what we perceive as reality, is an earthly prison. Science is now modern age RELIGION. @ShekharGupta @ndtv Nobody knows anything for sure but THINK they know everything. When Newton discovered gravity did it not exist before? Did gravity come into being at the moment he discovered it? What I fail to understand though, is making fun of astrologers and faith of people when something is not understood. The most important astronomers before Isaac Newton were also astrologers by profession, to name a few– Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler, and Galileo Galilei. Aryabhat, the father of Indian astronomy, his contemporary Varahamhir, was the celebrated authority on astrology. There are many more but that’s not the point, the point here is earlier astronomers were also astrologers, and we today want to believe they were half right in their pursuit of science but half wrong in their pursuit of astrology…why on what basis???

By proving some astrologers (with limited knowledge of the field, I may also humbly include my name on the list too!) wrong in their predictions is not right justification of calling astrology wrong.

If all of us think alike: ‘accept science and discredit astrology or similar belief system’, nobody will be able to cross transition zone and we will all remain same, thinking and doing similar things for centuries and generations to come!!!  

It’s an accepted part of our culture today not to have beliefs or faith but I, as a science person and also an astrologer, do not want to be guided by any limitations and truly explore all possibilities.
