Do Miracles actually happen in life? 

Seriously, don’t you want miracles to happen in your life?

First thing first what is the dictionary meaning of miracle? Miracle: An extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs; an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment. (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

It is my belief that we should not pretend to understand the world and also life only by the intellect, logic or through science only. Life would be meaningless if we just view it logically or through science, at best; it would only be the half of truth, partial or not complete truth. For example, the biggest mystery of life on earth is ---Why do we need ‘sleep’ and what is its relation with Sunlight?  When we talk of sleep, then again another mystery ‘dreams’ also comes up? Nobody on this planet can give exact and a precise answer to something which is so every day, or should I say every night, occurrence, after all almost one-third of our life is spent sleeping!!!

The debate between beliefs and non-beliefs has and will probably continue forever. There is duality in nature--the visible and tangible versus the invisible and un-manifested energy of life, positive and negative polarity of science, yin-yang of Chinese, Ardhanarishvara (Sanskrit: अर्धनारीश्वर, form of the Hindu god Shiva and his consort Parvati). Irrespective of all claims nobody can understand life in totality, and what I am doing in this article, is to explore the possibility of ‘Miracles’!!!

Knowledge of the existence of something, like miracles, is something that logical mind finds it hard to accept. We are so captivated by and entangled in science and logic that we have forgotten the age-old fact that God speaks chiefly through Miracles.  

Well, just for the sake of discussion-

Do ‘Miracles’ actually happen in life/ can we explore the possibility of ‘Miracles’? 

To understand the world around us, we have to begin by making all sorts of assumptions. A statement is meaningful if and only if it can be proved true or false, at least in principle, by means of the experience. Also, it is not an assumption but a fact, not everything can be mathematically calculated.  In science, it is often expressed that cannot be empirically answered by means of a measurement or experiment have no meaning at all, WOW! One can certainly question its validity.  Okay, now with my limited knowledge of science, I argue, science defines a star or  a planet and makes statements that exists outside the horizon of human perception, after all neither of which are in principle determinable by any experiment or mathematically determined. We know, we are still trying to land on Mars, so how do we know planets or stars concept is correct???? Yes, calculations and physics gives some credibility to it but certainty- NO, there could be totally different explanation, very different from present explanation, to the concept of stars and planets. Universe is huge and inexplicable and beyond the scope of present science.

If I say or make an assumption that ‘miracles’ actually happen what would that mean?  It means something that seems impossible or inconceivable, something which cannot be fully justifiable by limited concept within one's mind. Something that is beyond the rules of thought, logic, and mathematics that we use to structure our understanding, isn’t it so?  Here I make two points—

My first point—if we say that ‘miracles can never occur’, this is not a scientific statement, why? Because Science tells if something cannot be observed in a controlled experiment, it is not science, but that does not mean that it is impossible. It is just only not easily reproducible!

 My second point is that--- if only one man claimed to have had experienced’ Miracles’, we could have ignored it but if however rare or few people claimed to have experienced ‘miracles ‘in their life, in all of history till now, should we really ignore it, the data or occurrence,  just because it is rare???, if we do so would this be scientific? Now, don't misunderstand me, I agree that we must analyze these exceptions to the everyday very carefully.

I'm not asking you to read what I say here with blind faith, but to open yourself up to the possibilities of ‘Miracles’ and the evidence supporting it. The secrets of this universe are something we can probably explore or research but may not understand completely EVER. Science deals with physical bodies but there is so much that extends beyond our physical bodies.

The oft-stated claim that miracles are "outside of science" is true enough, but doesn't explain anything, and merely makes science look arbitrary and closed-minded in the eyes of non-scientists. So should it simply be junked? Because, answer couldn’t be found or should it be explored?? Actually to be fair, religious or believers need to clean up their own house too before accusing science of being unreasonable. Now, I also believe, too credulous belief in ‘miracles’ can also be a wrong way of dealing with any problem or explaining away any inconvenient fact. Even if miracles occur, they could only be accepted as such after the most rigorous scrutiny. Just imagine, if chartered accountants accepted miracles as explanations for discrepancies on your accounts balance sheet, or the police accepted miracles as explanations for how fingerprints got on things? No, I am not propagating this, I am just exploring the possibility of occurrence of ‘miracles’. In my belief, there is divine intervention in life, when we lose all faith and reach end….. in form of ‘miracle’.

One principal reason science rejects miracles is that the vast majority of ‘miracle’ claims have proven untrustworthy and the rest are indeterminate. ‘Miracles’ is not something that can be quantified but is an experience which an individual, only that individual, can feel. 

Hume, one person who argued strongly against ‘miracles’, was right; no amount of evidence for a miracle can rule out the possibility of some hidden flaw in the evidence or unknown natural explanation, however, he made the unwarranted leap from "miracles can't be proven" to "miracles don't happen." Because, there is always a possibility that something cannot be proved but still can happen, don’t you think so???

I ask everyone who is reading this blog to open their spiritual eyes and with complete faith, see how in life, ‘miracles’ happen, how divine intervention changes the course of your life that will blow your natural mind and take you on the journey of your life.

 Can I prove god exists? No, but then can I prove he doesn't? Even the answer to that is: No, but look around and you may just find the answer yourself…..
