Feminism: #InternationalWomensDay

Feminism: #InternationalWomensDay
Yes, a woman is a daughter, a wife and also a mother but first and foremost she is a ‘human being’. When a woman moves forward, I believe she takes the whole new generation along with her. To me, a woman just not only gives birth but creates a whole new world with new thinking. With her new forward thinking, she can instill right education and values in her children. She is the forward movement. So, to me FEMINISM does not mean FIGHT for rights or equality as FIGHT is a negative word, (I am basically a Libran, remember Mahatma Gandhi and his love for peace so naturally so I do not like the word ‘fight’). To me FEMINISM means moving FORWARD whether anyone supports you or not. It is not easy for women but she needs the support of today’s intelligent men to help her get what she deserves, as it is a struggle for which she is struggling for over the centuries.

One word that I really dislike is- ‘allow’. As for women not allowed entering certain temples, I learned, as per Hindu Scriptures, Lord Shiva, the principle God of Hindus, is Ardhanarishvara meaning God is neither a man nor a woman but half man and half woman. I am including the picture of this Ardhanarishvara form of Lord Shiva. You can Google, learn more about Hindu God being—half man and half woman.  So, where did we lose our way…..let’s all move forward, masculine and feminine, proactively with light in our hearts!! To conclude: YES, I am a feminist and feminism is not a negative word but carries forward a change.
